PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The building, which is named after the developer, has 7 floors with a total of 15 apartments. The brick wall surfaces extend like discs from top to bottom, which are slightly twisted in relation to each other. Between the brick surfaces, the windows of the buildings are made as structural glazing. The sun catches the brick surfaces and, the slightly twisted in relation to each other, the light and shadow effects on the building change significantly throughout the day. The building is built in the new, elegant Roman stone format, which gives a very special exclusive expression.

The homes are practically furnished and are inspired by the Nordic style. The shades are generally light, and large window areas ensure adequate light. Greenhouses have been established on the roof terrace and in the large courtyard, where residents can grow vegetables and herbs.

N+P Arkitektur has designed the waterworks in Lundby Krat and both the choice of materials and the color scale relate to the beautiful landscape. The brick 2.4.48 Forest has a natural and beautiful play of colors in reddish-brown shades with notes of both green and yellow.
In 2013, the Environmental and Nature Complaints Board finally granted permission for four boreholes for a new waterworks to be constructed in an otherwise protected area in Lundby Krat near Aalborg.

Krøyers Plads

USED STONE

3240 Kroyer

PROJECT TYPE

Multi-storey building

YEAR OF CONSTRUCTION

2015

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

"Krøyers Plads has a unique location in the centre of Copenhagen's harbour. Before the construction, the site was a "hole" in the continuous rows of old warehouses that lie perpendicular to the harbour front. Several proposals for the development of the area have been rejected primarily by the local population. Therefore, the new Krøyers Plads is based on a hyper-democratic and contextual approach. The project consists of 3 five-story residential buildings, which naturally take their starting point from the warehouse buildings along the harbour. Folded roofs and architectural heaviness create a dialogue between old and new and a modern, empathetic interpretation of the architectural uniqueness of the old Copenhagen warehouses.
The rough bricks refer to the area's old warehouse buildings, characterised by some distinctive red brick roofs with a distinct black patina. We, therefore, worked with black and red colours in the construction, with black-fired red clay bricks and golden-black anodized aluminium sheets."

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Green elements help create a strong identity and coherence between the buildings on Grønttorvet. Geranium Rækkerne also has a strong focus on greenery, and all the houses have outdoor areas at the front and back of the house, where there is space and room for sitting in the sun. In the front garden, all the townhouses have a shed with extra storage space for bicycles and tools. "Kyssestien” (The Kiss Path), the delicate green path in an organic shape with tall trees between the gables, runs through the development.

Hortensia Hus

USED STONE

PROJECT TYPE

Multi-storey building

YEAR OF CONSTRUCTION

2017

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Hortensia Hus was designed by the architectural firm Mangor & Nagel, which was inspired by functionalist architecture, which is known for its simple and clean expression. The building is therefore built in a strict, functionalist style, where green roofs and the architecture allow space for Grønttorvet's identity in the form of green beds, trees, bushes and plants to create the details.

The green elements from Grønttorvet are also part of the building's architectural style. On the roof of the house, there is a greenhouse where you can grow seasonal vegetables and strengthen relationships with your neighbours. In addition, the roof is planted with succulent plants that are beautiful to look at - and which also relieve the sewer system, as the plants absorb large parts of the rainwater.

Lathyrus Hus

USED STONE

3255 Red Shade

PROJECT TYPE

Multi-storey building

YEAR OF CONSTRUCTION

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Lathyrus Hus is industrial charm and high quality for the discerning tenant. The beautiful square building has drawn inspiration from the history of Grønttorvet and the nearby Håndværkerby, which was built in the 1950s to replace outdated commercial premises in inner Copenhagen and the bridge districts.

The building can be recognized by the eye-catching green windows and the varying detailing in the facade, where variation is created through grout colour, recesses in the facade, etc. The industrial expression is repeated in the windows, which have a prominent wagon green colour and have drawn inspiration from the historic buildings on the old Grønttorv.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In 2013, Malmö gained a new, unique landmark. White designed the twelve-story residential project at Slussplan, which gives the previously unglamorous hub a clear boost.
White was tasked with designing the new residential development at Slussplan following a competition that was announced as early as 2002.
Brick was the clear choice for the high facade to the north, along the track area. Here, the aim was to create a durable yet expressive facade that could be seen from a long distance. The rounded corners create a nice detail, as the brick's properties in terms of being able to be shaped come into their own.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The house, which was the only private building nominated for the “Aabenraas Architecture Prize” and won, is 250 m2 and is located in a former gravel pit, which has since been restored to its natural state. In the Bauhaus style, good materials and good craftsmanship play a crucial role and the architect is pleased that the client did not skimp on this area either. Large glass areas overlook the surrounding 44 hectares of fields and lakes, and you can enjoy the landscape on four different levels. Not only from the roof terrace, but also from the basement, the kitchen and the living room.

Due to the building's very special location, Mangor and Nagel have always aspired to make this particular house special and aspirational.
The jagged shape of the ground plan, formed by rotating two identical squares by 30 degrees, creates the many vertical facade lines that emphasize the tower's verticality. In sunlight, the building stands beautiful, lively and full of relief on the angled building surfaces.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The renovation of Herning Library has transformed an ugly concrete building from the 1960s into a hip metropolitan library with a "New Yorker feel." After standing as an empty ghost building for several years, the building now connects the city with an indoor walkway from the pedestrian street to the bus and train station.

In addition to borrowing books and strolling through the beautiful surroundings, citizens can also take advantage of cultural offerings and a homework café and enjoy fine coffee brewed by the café's baristas.

The main purpose of the extensive and impressive renovation of the old warehouse into a modern library has been to create a shared cultural center for the city's citizens.

The project won the Renover Prize 2015.

The maritime construction project “Kanalfronten” at Vejle Fjord, consisting of “Kanalhusene” and “Parkhuset”, is part of Vejle Municipality’s local plan from 2010, where the harbour was to form the framework for an 11,000 m2 housing project. The brick, “2.7.15 Royal Spring”, was chosen for the facades to create a characterful harbour building, where naturally robust materials with a beautiful play of colours patina beautifully over time.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In the small town of Hummelsbüttel, Germany, residents often pass by the neighbourhood on a dead-end street to once again marvel at the new single-family house. The two-story house attracts a lot of attention with its compact architecture and stands out significantly from its surroundings with its light grey limestone walls and light, bright window frames.
Architect Matthias Mecklenburg designed the house in response to the client's desire for a classic yet modern and completely individual single-family house that had to be built within a carefully determined budget framework.
This cubist building met all requirements. On the outside, it appears to be a relatively solid house without verandas, balconies, or a roof terrace, but on the inside, it presents a refined, open, and inviting layout.

PROJEKTBESKRIVELSE

The International School in Ikast-Brande is so popular that it needs new, larger premises.

C.F. Møller designed the school with two floors in light brickwork, like a small town with tiny houses located around a square and small streets.
The new school building, which houses the school, after-school care, and kindergarten, is an extension of an existing educational complex. The choice of light grey bricks allows the building, with its staggered building bodies, to appear independent while blending naturally into the surrounding brick architecture.
