The façades are built in 3478 Black Beauty, a dark waterstruck brick with a vibrant and nuanced colour variation. The brick adds depth and character to the building, while the dark tones emphasise the distinctive geometry of the architecture. In the interplay between light, shadow and brick, the façade achieves an expression that is both exclusive and timeless.
Bryggeblomsten was designed by Mangor & Nagel Architects, now part of AART. The practice has been widely recognised for its ability to combine architectural quality with functional housing, where daylight, views and materials play a central role. Bryggeblomsten is an example of this approach, with its distinctive form and carefully considered layout.
With Bryggeblomsten, FB Gruppen set out to create a distinctive residential development that would support the transformation of the new district at Islands Brygge. The project is the result of close collaboration between developer and architect, with the ambition of combining strong architecture, attractive homes and high-quality materials. This approach was later recognised when Bryggeblomsten received the City of Copenhagen’s Architectural Award.
Bryggeblomsten is located on Islands Brygge in Copenhagen, an area that has transformed from an industrial district into one of the capital’s most attractive neighbourhoods over the past decades. Here, urban life, the waterfront environment and the green natural surroundings of Amager Fælled come together, creating a unique balance between city living and nature.
