Køhlers Have was constructed using a nuanced combination of Matzen Tegl’s handstruck bricks: 3370 Gulrød med Spil, 3373 Safari and 3240 Rød med spil. The three bricks create vibrant and varied brickwork with shades shifting between warm yellows, reddish-browns and deep reds. The handstruck touch gives the façades a distinct textured quality, evident in the building details at corners, relief effects and the prominent window frames. The result is a modern residential environment with a classic brick identity that holds strong both up close and in the overall impression of courtyards and façades.
Sweco was responsible for the architecture of Køhlers Have, drawing clearly from Sydhavnen’s classic aesthetic with handstruck bricks, double-pitch roofs and delicate brick details. They created a modern residential neighbourhood that connects the old and new Sydhavnen while also meeting high sustainability standards such as DGNB Gold.
AG Gruppen was the developer and driving force behind Køhlers Have, having brought the project from concept to completed homes. They build with a focus on quality and care, creating a residential area featuring 384 rental homes, green courtyards and distinctive roof terraces that foster community across the blocks.
Køhlers Have is situated in Sydhavnen where new housing developments meet the historic district. The area is characterised by classic Copenhagen blocks, green courtyards and proximity to both the metro at Mozarts Plads and recreational areas such as Valby Park and Amager Common.
