Kongebrohuset in Sønderborg is built using the handstruck brick 3255 Red Shade. Characterised by its vibrant blend of red, dark red and lightly fired tones, the brick adds depth and character to the façades. The interplay between the distinctive brick surfaces, expansive glazing and the textured handmade finish creates a timeless and exclusive architectural expression with strong materiality and presence.
Kongebrohuset was designed by C.F. Møller Architects, creating a residential development focused on views, daylight and durable materials. The building’s terraced form maximises natural light and provides the majority of the apartments with views of Alssund, while the distinctive brick façades anchor the project within Sønderborg’s maritime surroundings.

Sustainability has been a key focus throughout the project. Kongebrohuset has achieved DGNB Gold certification, demonstrating a high standard in areas such as environmental performance, economic sustainability and indoor climate. Material selection, energy efficiency and long-term durability have all been important factors in the certification process.
Kongebrohuset was constructed by A. Enggaard and stands as a landmark residential development on Sønderborg’s waterfront. With its distinctive brick architecture and attractive location overlooking Alssund, the project has become a prominent feature in the transformation of the city’s new harbour district.
