Skæring Bæk is a residential development set in scenic surroundings north of Aarhus, where architecture and landscape have been conceived as a unified whole. The waterstruck brick Safari 3373 was selected for its warm colour variation and vibrant appearance, bringing character and depth to the façades. The brickwork complements the development’s calm architectural expression and contributes to a timeless aesthetic that blends naturally with the surrounding green landscape. The result is a residential development defined by strong materiality, high quality and architecture designed to stand beautifully for generations.
Nordic Office of Architecture designed the development as a series of one and two-storey terraced houses arranged in rhythmic residential clusters, carefully adapted to the site’s topography and landscape.
For AAB Aarhus, the ambition was to create attractive social housing focused on quality of life, high standards and strong community living.
Skæring Bæk comprises 175 social housing units constructed between 2017 and 2020. The project has achieved both DGNB Gold and DGNB Diamond certification and was nominated for the Aarhus Architecture Award 2025.
